Crawshaw

A name synonymous with Eye Care on the North Shore since the 1950's founded by Mr Allan Crawshaw (Optometrist).

  • Paul Collins joined Mr Crawshaw in 1960 and practised till early 2014.

  • The business was taken over by Paul Collins and Grant Dabb in the 1980’s after Mr Crawshaw retired.

  • Paul Collins was the sole proprietor till 2003 and then he went into partnership with Safina and Mobin Kuddus.

  • Crawshaw Opticians and Optometrists Ltd is now fully owned by the Kuddus family.

  • Crawshaw’s maintains high standards in delivering customer satisfaction with a friendly environment, latest technology and professional advice.

Safina Kuddus

Safina is an experienced Optometrist who has served the Takapuna community for over 25 years, having graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Optometry in 1993. She migrated from Fiji as a young teen and settled in Auckland with her family. Safina’s personalised and professional approach to eye-care gives her patients the confidence to recommend her to their friends and family for their eye-care needs. Where in some cases, three generations of one family have been treated by Safina. Safina enjoys hiking, yoga, spending time with family and a good cup of coffee.

Mobin Kuddus

Mobin started his optical career in 2003 and joined his wife Safina, at Crawshaws as an Optical Dispenser. Mobin has built expertise in helping patients find the perfect frames for each individual, taking into account both the prescription and desired aesthetic.

Within his personal life, Mobin has a passion for cooking, which he has developed into creating a range of hot sauces under the carefully curated name of ‘Iris hot sauce’.
